Dear Friend of NeighborSpace, 

I am very sorry to share that Amanda Glassco is leaving the organization. I am grateful for the two years that we worked together and for the progress that NeighborSpace was able to make thanks to her contributions.

Amanda joined NeighborSpace part-time in November 2023 to support implementation of the Community Climate Change Resilience project in Turner Station. She quickly took the lead on the Resilience project and developed relationships with Turner Station community leaders and residents. As time and money allowed, Amanda’s position grew to full-time, and she became NeighborSpace’s point of contact for stewardship partners and volunteers. Under her leadership, NeighborSpace strengthened its stewardship relationships, rolled out community science programs, piloted its Neighbors for Native Plants course and other workshops, and completed restoration projects such as the installation of pollinator gardens, bayscapes and rain barrels.

If you’ve met Amanda, you’ll know that she has a way of putting people at ease and engaging young and old in the activity on hand, whether it’s pulling weeds, looking for bugs in streams, or observing plants and wildlife. I’ve found Amanda to be a wonderful listener who asks thoughtful, insightful questions and has a talent for distilling big, rambling ideas into structured programs and well-defined projects. Her positive attitude and great sense of humor kept us all engaged and motivated.

I can confidently say that Amanda’s contributions strengthened NeighborSpace and improved the organization’s capacity to steward the communities we serve and the lands we conserve. I know she will do the same in her new position and I wish her the best of luck.
