Thanks to donations from generous supporters like you, NeighborSpace was able to hire three interns this summer. We want to help young conservationists gain fieldwork and behind-the-scenes experience, and staff is grateful for the extra hands and minds!

Read on to meet our two stewardship interns, Ashley and Katie.

Hi! I am Ashley Metzbower. I just graduated from UMBC with a B.S. in Geography and Environmental Science. I am super excited to be an intern for NeighborSpace this summer to help monitor and maintain their sites for both the people and the ecosystems within them!! I am especially eager to spend time outside and learn more about different local plant species.

Hello! I am Katie Walsh. I am a junior at UMBC majoring in Geography and Environmental Science. I am very excited to be interning with NeighborSpace this summer because I have lived my whole life in Baltimore County and I always love to spend my free time exploring local parks and forests while helping out in any way I can, and now I get to continue doing that all while learning many important and new ways to contribute to my community!
