Aaron Speaking at Opening

Aaron Barnett Speaks at the Opening of Powhatan Park in 2018

NeighborSpace is pleased to announce the addition of four new board members. They include:

  • Aaron J. Barnett, a longshoreman and the current Vice President of the local International Longshoremans Association. He is also President of the Powhatan Farms Improvement Association, which serves as the NeighborSpace stewardship partner at Powhatan Park. Aaron lives in Lochearn.
  • Larry Fogelson, a retired planner who spent 39 years at the Maryland Department of Planning. He has extensive expertise in the planning of  water resources and infrastructure as well as land preservation and open space. Larry lives in Rogers Forge.
  • John D. Herron, MSW, MBA, a psychiatric social worker, social entrepreneur, and non-profit executive. He lives in Catonsville.
  • Janet Schollenberger, a Master Gardener who spent 30 years of her career in the planning and execution of investigative research studies at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She lives in Glen Arm.

NeighborSpace was sad to lose Shannon McDonald as Office Administrator in December. Shannon did a remarkable job to move the work of the organization forward as the first person to hold the position, making vital improvements in the management of data and the creation of efficient systems for getting things done. The board and staff wishes her well in her new endeavors and offers their heartfelt thanks for her many contributions.

In Shannon's stead, NeighborSpace welcomes Stacey Menegatti, who brings over 16 years of administrative experience to the role, along with a keen interest in fundraising. Stacey lives in Parkville.
