About This Space
This site originally consisted of 8 duplexes (16 residences) from 1944 to 2012, when neighbors successfully prosecuted a lawsuit against the Hess corporation for subsurface petroleum contamination from a nearby gas station. The 8 duplexes were demolished, and as part of the settlement, Hess corporation designed and implemented a neighborhood park. This park consists of native meadows, trees planted in turf, a playground, seating areas, and a pavilion. NeighborSpace purchased the park in fee in 2015 to conserve and maintain it for the community.
